Wilmar, Producer Of Sania And Fortune Owned By Conglomerate Martua Sitorus Trusted By The Ministry Of Trade To Fulfill Cooking Oil Supply In Singkawang

JAKARTA - The Singkawang City Government, West Kalimantan, together with the Singkawang Police Food Task Force are monitoring the stock and distribution of cooking oil from distributors to sub-agents to shops.

"We have been doing this monitoring since Monday, February 21, until the next few days," said the Head of Disperindagkop and UKM Singkawang Muslimin in Singkawang, West Kalimantan, quoted from Antara, Thursday, February 24.

Based on the results of monitoring in the field, Monday, 1,000 cartons of cooking oil have been entered for subsidized brands.

"The plan is that PT Wilmar will drop it again today and it will be appointed from the Ministry of Trade to increase the supply of cooking oil that already exists in Singkawang," he said.

In fact, his party has also received directives from both the Provincial Disperindag and the Ministry of Trade, to carry out direct monitoring of its distribution from distributors to stores.

"Hopefully, there will be no misuse of cooking oil from the top to the store, both related to the stock they have and the price does not exceed the HET which has been set at Rp. 14,000/liter," he said.

To ensure that, a team from the Ministry of Trade together with the West Kalimantan Province Disperindag will also go down to monitor the stock and sales of cooking oil in Singkawang City.

For this reason, distributors, agents, sub-agents and shops should not let anyone sell subsidized cooking oil above the predetermined HET.

Muslims also do not want any indication of hoarding or supplying and even giving to speculatives which can eventually lead to conditions of unrest in society.

"We from the service will directly monitor with PPNS (civil servant investigators) related to consumer protection if in the field there are indications of irregularities," he said.

He will act decisively if this is found, considering this problem involves the livelihood of many people.

"So whoever tries to hoard and so on, we will fight and we will act in accordance with the applicable law," he concluded.
