Denies Abuse Of Bulk Cooking Oil Allocation In Makassar, Here's The Clarification Of PT SMART Owned By Conglomerate Eka Tjipta Widjaja

JAKARTA - Filma cooking oil producer PT SMART Tbk (SMAR) owned by conglomerate Eka Tjipta Widjaja has denied any misuse of bulk cooking oil allocation in Makassar.

SMART Director Gianto Widjaja said that the bulk cooking oil shipment to the company's bulking company in Makassar was intended for industry and domestic market obligation (DMO) from the start. "So, there is no misuse of the allocation," said Gianto in his statement, Wednesday, February 23.

Gianto explained that every month, the company's bulking company in Makassar receives shipments of bulk cooking oil. There are various uses.

"This includes industrial needs and household needs in Makassar and its surroundings," said Gianto.

In fact, said Gianto, as a form of support for the government's DMO program, the company prioritizes meeting the needs of household cooking oil. This means that the company will only claim the distribution of DMO after the cooking oil is sold and distributed.

"So there are no false claims from the company," said Gianto.

In addition, as part of the effort to provide cooking oil at affordable prices, Gianto said that his party has asked for a commitment from buyers/distributors to ensure that the price of cooking oil reaches the final consumer in accordance with the highest bright price (HET).

"We are committed to supporting customers in Makassar for their cooking oil needs, both for industry and households," said Gianto.
