JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir met with the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X at the Yogyakarta Governor's office in Yogyakarta. The meeting was to discuss the toll road construction process to the development of the Borobudur Temple.

Erick emphasized that the infrastructure development plans carried out by SOEs in DIY must go through good business processes in order to produce good outputs for the surrounding community.

"In the meeting with Sri Sultan, we talked a lot about the progress of toll road construction, including the issue of land acquisition," he said in an official statement, Monday, February 21.

Erick said that SOEs were fully committed and coordinated intensively with the DIY Provincial Government regarding toll road construction. Erick assessed that this was a good form of collaboration between the central government, through the Ministry of SOEs and local governments.

"BUMN and the DIY Provincial Government are also committed to involving the community so that the development of toll roads can provide real benefits for regional progress, and of course the community itself," said Erick.

Furthermore, Erick hopes that the presence of the toll road can further strengthen the image of Jogja as a leading destination in Central Java.

Not only that, Erick also believes that the existence of the toll road will also reduce logistics costs and have a multiplier effect in increasing Jogja's economic growth.

In addition to the toll road, Erick also conveyed the commitment of SOEs in developing Borobudur and Prambanan Temple tourism. Erick said that PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko (Persero) or TWC has now joined a tourism holding ecosystem and supporters or InJourney.

Erick said the presence of InJourney would give a new face to the Indonesian tourism model. "With the holding, TWC no longer struggles alone in developing Borobudur and Prambanan temples," said Erick.

Later, Erick continued, InJourney will collaborate in strengthening branding, making bundling packages, and packaging events at Prambanan Temple and Borobudur Temple to make it more interesting.

"The tourism development of Borobudur Temple and Prambanan Temple will also involve local governments around Joglosemar so that the multiple effects created can be felt for all," concluded Erick.
