Mutual Funds Are More Affordable For The Community, With IDR 10,000 Capital Can Be Invested

JAKARTA - Mutual fund investment instruments are increasingly accessible to the public. The reason is, now there are many investment platforms that offer mutual funds with a minimum purchase of only IDR 10,000.

One of them is OVO. This digital payment platform has the OVO Invest feature in collaboration with PT Bareksa Portal Investasi.

OVO has just partnered with PT Eastspring Investments Indonesia (Eastspring Indonesia) to offer the Eastspring Investments Value Discovery stock mutual fund. OVO Chief Operating Officer Eddie Martono said that the mutual funds that were present through the Invest feature in the OVO application were part of OVO's commitment to open access that was affordable, reliable, and comfortable in managing investment.

"OVO is pleased to be collaborating with Eastspring Indonesia and Bareksa in presenting a selection of equity mutual fund investment products that can add to the portfolios of investors, both beginners and experienced investors," Eddie said in his statement, Monday, February 14.

Eastspring Indonesia President Director Alan J. Tangkas Darmawan said the presence of equity mutual funds at OVO could be an option and make it easier for investors who want to diversify assets and open access to affordable, reliable and comfortable purchases with a minimum purchase value of IDR 10,000.

"Hopefully this product can be an answer to the investment needs of the community, so that they are closer to the financial goals they want to achieve," said Alan.

Meanwhile, the Chief Operating Officer of Bareksa, Ni Putu Kurniasari, responded that the presence of this stock asset class mutual fund product is a complement to the portfolio of investors using OVO Invest, as well as an opportunity to capture investment potential amid the positive outlook for Indonesia's economic growth this year.

"Indonesia's economic growth in the first quarter of this year is estimated to be at the level of 4.7 percent - 4.9 percent. On the other hand, maintained inflation at the level of 2.18% in January 2022 also makes our country's fundamentals more solid," said Putu.

The presence of Eastspring Investments Value Discovery Class A complements products from different asset classes that have been present previously, namely conventional and sharia money market mutual funds and fixed income mutual funds. The increased choice of products in the OVO Invest feature is expected to increase public access to financial services through convenient, safe and affordable products and services.
