CIANJUR - Residents in Takokak Sub-district, Cianjur Regency, West Java, hope that the Leuwi Muning suspension bridge, which connects the district to Sukabumi, can be repaired soon. This bridge is an important part that supports the people's economy.

Head of Waringinsari Village, Nadir Muhamaram Abdurahman, said that so far efforts have been made to improve the community independently but not optimally. Specifically

This bridge connects Waringinsari Village, Takokak-Cianjur with Tanjungsari Village, Curugkembar-Sukabumi.

"This bridge is 45 meters long and 3.5 meters wide, is the main route for residents' activities. Especially the economic activities of the residents who mostly live from agricultural products such as rice and vegetables to be sold to downtown Sukabumi because it is closer to Cianjur. So far. , residents can only bring their produce by motorbike," said Nadir in Cianjur, as quoted by Antara, Friday, February 11.

The bridge can shorten the distance by up to an hour and a half. So far, residents have been forced to do self-help to repair damaged bridge foundations every year.

"We hope that this connecting bridge between regencies will be built permanently, so that four-wheeled vehicles and trucks can pass. So far, hundreds of tons of rice sold to the city, only generate a small profit because they are used up for transportation costs," he said.

Separately, Cianjur Regent Herman Suherman said his party had paid attention to the damaged bridge. Even for the next two years, his party will prioritize development, including in Takokak District.

"We will build it gradually due to budget constraints, we hope that in the next year there will be dozens of bridges that can be built permanently, as an effort to improve the economic status of each sub-district," he said.
