JAKARTA - Executive General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura II, Raja Haji Fisabilillah Airport (RHF) Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands Province, Ngatimin K. Murtono conveyed his party's readiness to welcome foreign tourists with tourist destinations.

"We welcome the policy of foreign tourists entering Indonesia through Tanjungpinang," said Ngatimin in Tanjungpinang, quoted from Antara, Friday, February 11.

RHF Airport is designated as the entrance for foreign tourists to Indonesia, along with three other airports, namely I Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali, Soekarno Hatta Airport in Jakarta, and Hang Nadim Airport in Batam.

This is in accordance with Circular (SE) No.11/2022 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Overseas Travel (PPLN) by Air Transportation during the COVID-19 Pandemic Period.

Ngatimin explained that his party does not yet know the route or international flight path through Tanjungpinang RHF Airport because it is still waiting for an official decision from the central government.

"Which country's foreign tourists are allowed to enter Indonesia, of course, based on the approval of the central government," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Riau Islands Provincial Office, Mochammad Bisri, said that foreign tourists entering Indonesia through Tanjungpinang RHF Airport must comply with health protocols, such as showing evidence that they have been vaccinated or negative PCR test results for COVID-19 from their country of origin.

Furthermore, he said, foreign tourists will undergo a five-day isolation period in quarantine locations, for example in hotels.

"After the isolation is complete, we can continue tourism activities," he said.

Bisri hopes that the opening of flight access for foreign tourists will become a momentum for economic recovery, especially in the tourism sector, but without neglecting the handling and prevention of COVID-19.
