JAKARTA - The President Director of the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), Abdulbar M Mansoer ensured that the activities carried out by MotoGP racers in Mandalika were under the strict supervision of the committee and BNPB so that they did not violate the bubble rules.

"For the bubble, we have coordinated with the Ministry of Health, the COVID-19 Task Force and the BNPB so they are under strict supervision," Abdulbar said at the Launching & Press Conference of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, Wednesday, February 9.

He explained that the bubble system that was followed was that the racers and their teams came from Malaysia on direct flights using shuttle planes and were only allowed to carry out activities at airports, hotels and sports venues.

"The racers were everywhere with the committee. Yesterday there was supervision from the committee. If anyone interacted, it was all under our supervision," he said.

Previously, since Monday 7 February, GP racers such as Marc Marquez had arrived in Indonesia and went viral because some of them were seen sharing their activities while in Mandalika.

The bubble rules issued by the government have been stated in Circular Number 5 of 2022 concerning the Bubble System Health Protocol for the 2022 MotoGP Activities in Mandalika during the COVID-19 Pandemic, published February 3, 2022.

The regulation states a number of provisions. One of them was stated, the perpetrators of the 2022 MotoGP bubble system in Mandalika who were officially registered as racers and officials entered the 2022 MotoGP bubble area in Mandalika through the international arrival entrance of Lombok International Airport Zainuddin Abdul Madjid.

While in the 2022 MotoGP bubble system area in Mandalika, participants are only allowed to interact with people who are in one bubble group, carrying out activities in predetermined zones at each facility or infrastructure within the bubble area in Mandalika.

The Mandalika MotoGP participants must also undergo a routine antigen rapid test every day, reporting to health workers in the bubble system area when experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19 for an RT-PCR examination.
