Bank Muamalat's Subsidiary Facilitates The Development Of Islamic Finance Human Resources At UMY

JAKARTA - A subsidiary of PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia, namely the Muamalat Institute, is said to have reached a work agreement with the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) related to the development of human resources (HR) in the Islamic finance industry.

Executive Director of Muamalat Institute Anton Hendrianto said this step is a form of company support to universities in preparing a competent workforce and in accordance with industry needs in the field.

"The synergy that was built targets students who are expected to be immediately absorbed in the Islamic finance industry after graduation with qualified competencies," he said in an official statement quoted on Wednesday, February 9th.

According to Anton, his party is committed to providing material that is in line with the projections of the World Economic Forum, where there are at least 10 main skills that must be mastered to be successful in the Islamic finance industry and also the halal industry.

“We all know that the challenges in this sector continue to grow. Therefore, a quick effort is needed to be able to adjust to the dynamics that occur. God willing, the younger students will be absorbed in the world of lawful work," he said.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Islamic Economics Study Program UMY Khumaedi Khamid appreciated the support provided by the Muamlat Group. Because, as the first Islamic banking institution in Indonesia, Muamalat has valuable experience and experience in managing the economy in accordance with Islamic principles.

"We want our students to have superior, competent, and skilled quality human resources in managing Islamic banking activities effectively and to be ready to take part in the sharia industry at large," he said.

Khumaedi added, deepening the material along with direct practice in the field provides a complete picture for students to be able to apply the knowledge gained from campus.

"Students need to understand the concept of Islamic banking by going directly into the technical field, so that later they will be able to answer the needs of the world of work," he said.

“The encouragement and motivation in the form of integrated activities in a sustainable manner is expected to be able to form a positive culture. The need for a complete introduction and job simulation gives an idea of what the real purpose of education is,” concluded Khumaedi.
