JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir emphasized to his staff to strengthen the integration of the assistance system for communities affected by disasters by increasing the role of government companies.
According to him, the presence of the BUMN National Disaster Task Force since 2020 must be in one command. Thus, the demands for handling disasters or victims and economic recovery as well as social impacts that are handled can be carried out at the same time better.
"I hope that with the collaboration of SOEs and hard work with the National Disaster Task Force for our SOEs, we can jointly help disaster victims in a more focused, integrated manner, and of course the important thing is that there are solutions and concrete results," he said in an official statement today, Wednesday, February 9th.
Erick added that SOEs must play a bigger role, namely by thinking about mid-term and long-term solutions when facing disasters. Among the things he mentioned were residential relocation, improvement of public and social facilities, rehabilitation of residents' businesses and the economy, as well as education for children in disaster areas.
“The presence of the BUMN National Disaster Task Force in all corners of the country through state companies is not tired of serving the people. I want everyone to get rid of sectoral egos, so that a strong ecosystem is formed in disaster management," he said.
On the same occasion, Head of the BUMN National Disaster Task Force Team Aestika Oryza Gunarto said that his party continued to strengthen coordination with all BUMN and related agencies in disaster-affected areas.
“Our volunteers without waiting for any orders have already come down. That's what was appreciated. So what we can help with, what we can help will definitely be supported," said Aestika, who also serves as BRI's Corporate Secretary.
For information, the BUMN National Disaster Task Force was formed based on the Decree of the Minister of BUMN Number: SK-77/MBU/03/2020 dated March 17, 2020.
Members of this Task Force consist of SOEs in 34 provinces, such as BRI, BNI, BTN, Bank Mandiri, Pegadaian, Pertamina, PLN, Telkom, PUSRI, Antam, Bukit Asam, Inalum, Timah, Semen Indonesia Group, Jasa Marga, Angkasa Pura II, to PT KAI.
"This is the regional coordinator under the disaster task force who has coordinated very well and spread from Aceh to Papua," concluded Aestika.
