National Press Day 2022, Airlangga Says National Economic Conditions Are Not Destroyed

KENDARI - Chairman of the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery (KPCPEN) Airlangga Hartarto stated that it is not true that the national economy was destroyed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Airlangga, who is also the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, claimed that Indonesia's handling of the pandemic is the fourth best in the world.

"It's true that the pandemic has hit the world, but we must also know that Indonesia is one of the countries that has not been ravaged. We are considered 4 countries that have handled the pandemic well," said Airlangga, in an official statement during the 2022 HPN Seminar, Tuesday, February 8.

According to Airlangga, the Indonesian economy throughout 2021 will also grow 3.69 percent, and this is in line with the government's target. The economic growth capital will certainly further smooth out the 2022 economic growth target of 5.2 percent.

"What is certain is that all of this is of course due to the appropriate gas and brake policies," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga.

Armed with this success and enthusiasm, Airlangga also stated, the higher the vaccination rate, the more optimistic Indonesia's economy will recover soon

Even though Indonesia is currently being tested again with the rise of the Omicron variant. Airlangga said he was optimistic that everything would go well. According to him, it is certainly a challenge that is not easy, but he still believes everything can be passed well.

Moreover, until now, the number of people who have received the vaccine is greater when there is a wave of delta variant spread.

"Currently, additional or booster vaccinations are not only for health workers, but also for the general public. We are also pushing for a third vaccine, especially for the elderly and those with comorbidities," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga. Airlangga Hartarto, who is also the General Chair of the Golkar Party DPP, also hopes that the momentum for economic recovery that will run in 2021 will continue in 2022.

"That way, Indonesia will be closer to normal conditions. We must maintain the momentum in the fourth quarter of this year," Airlangga concluded, in an online seminar that was part of a series of celebrations for the 2022 National Press Day (HPN) in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi 5- February 10, 2022 .

The National Seminar entitled 'Acceleration of the Regional Economy to Stimulate National Economic Recovery' was opened directly by the Secretary General of the Central PWI, Mirza Zulhadi and was also attended by the Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners, Wimboh Santoso and several other participants.

Secretary General of the Central PWI, Mirza Zulhadi in his opening remarks, as the executor of the organizer of the 2022 HPN will always prioritize three things, namely, first talking about ourselves, the second related to national interests and the third related to regional interests.

"Talking about ourselves is like what we have been doing since yesterday, namely the mass media convention, then about national interests as we are doing now regarding the National Seminar on our current economy and the third about regional interests is stated in several regional seminars such as the mining seminar which is more comprehensive. to the interests of a number of regions," said Mirza Zulhadi.
