JAKARTA - PT Smart Cakrawala Aviation or Smart Aviation, which is Susi Air's replacement tenant at the Malinau Hangar, revealed that it had paid the full year's rental fee for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2022.

However, Smart Aviation is reluctant to reveal how much the monthly rental fee is given to the Malinau Regional Government as the hangar owner.

"You can ask the Malinau local government directly because we pay it to the local government treasury. We can't say," said Director of PT Smart Cakrawala Aviation, Winarso at a press conference in Jakarta, Monday, February 7.

In response to this, the Regional Secretary for Malinau Ernes Silvanus revealed that the rental fee paid by Smart Aviation to rent the Malinau hangar was IDR 35 million per month.

"Smart Aviation has an agreement of IDR 35 million per month," said Ernes to VOI, Monday, February 7.

The price paid by Smart Aviation is slightly more expensive than Susi Air. For information, previously Susi Air had rented the Malinau Airport hangar for 10 years at a total cost of Rp. 33 million per month or Rp. 396 million per year.

That way, if there are no additional costs, then the price that Smart Aviation pays for the hangar rental in Kol. RA Bessing, Malinau is equivalent to IDR 420 million per year.

Regarding the losses suffered by Smart Aviation, Ernes said that he and the local government did not know the total losses suffered by Smart Aviation.

"We don't know the calculations from Smart. Everything will go back to them," he said.

Previously, Smart Aviation revealed that it had suffered material losses because since it was officially leased since early January, the hangar had not been occupied and used properly.
