JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif has now recovered and will return to work after previously undergoing self-isolation for a week.

The Head of the Communication, Public Information Services, and Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Agung Pribadi said that Minister Arifin this afternoon, Monday 7 February, will chair a meeting with the Director General of Oil and Gas, SKK Migas, and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

"Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif is fully healthy and active again. This afternoon he had a meeting with the Director General of Oil and Gas, SKK Migas, and the Secretary General," said Agung Pribadi, quoted from Antara.

On January 31, 2022, Agung said, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources had conveyed information to Commission VII of the DPR that the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources was in self-isolation starting January 30, 2022.

For this reason, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources requested that the Working Meeting with Commission VII DPR be rescheduled.

In previous reports, Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia was appointed by President Joko Widodo as ad interim Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources in an echelon I meeting at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources on Friday (4/2).

According to Agung, the appointment of Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources is temporary (ad interim) considering the main tasks and functions of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources must continue to run properly.

An ad interim minister is a minister who concurrently holds the position of another minister who is temporarily absent due to illness, overseas service, and so on.
