Unique! Bank Indonesia Intensifies The Use Of Rupiah In 3T Areas Using Warships

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) is holding the "2220 Sovereign Rupiah Expedition" using the Republic of Indonesia Warship (KRI) fleet in order to make it easier for people in the foremost, outermost, and remote (3T) areas to get rupiah currency.

Head of the BI Communications Department Erwin Haryono said this activity was part of a cooperation agreement between Bank Indonesia and the Indonesian Navy regarding the distribution, security, and escort of rupiah currency to remote areas of the Republic of Indonesia.

"This activity is also an effort to educate the public about the Love, Proud, Understanding Rupiah (CBP) movement and the implementation of the Dedication Program for the Country of Bank Indonesia as a tangible manifestation of the state defense event involving BI employees from various regions," he said in a press statement quoted on Friday, February 4th.

According to Erwin, the central bank will always ensure the availability of quality rupiah currency that is fit for circulation to support the smooth running of economic activities.

"We will continue to strengthen coordination between ministries/agencies to ensure that rupiah currency circulates with maintained quality throughout the territory of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.

For information, the "2222 Sovereign Rupiah Expedition" begins by visiting five islands in the Riau Archipelago Province on January 31, 2022. Then, along 22, there are also plans for implementation on 76 islands located in the territory of 15 other provinces, from Aceh to Papua.
