Wow! Of The Total Deposits In Banks Of Rp7.546 Trillion, A Total Of Rp.6.874 Trillion Comes From DKI Jakarta

JAKARTA - The total nominal public deposits in commercial banks throughout 2021 will reach IDR 7,546 trillion. This number is up 12 percent from the position at the end of 2020 of IDR 6,737 trillion.

The data is contained in the Deposit Distribution of Commercial Banks sourced from the Deposit Position Report submitted by 107 commercial banks to the Deposit Insurance Corporation, consisting of 95 Conventional Commercial Banks and 12 Sharia Commercial Banks.

Deposits here mean public money, corporations, and institutions that are kept in banks in the form of third-party funds (DPK), as well as deposits from other banks.

Throughout 2021, the value of such deposits will come from 386.31 million accounts. The number of these accounts increased by 10.3 percent from the position at the end of 2020 as many as 350.32 million accounts.

Based on the type of deposit, deposits with the largest nominal value were in time deposits which accounted for 37.9 percent of total deposits. Meanwhile, based on the tiering of deposits, the largest nominal deposits are in the tiering of deposits above IDR 5 billion, which covers 51.0 percent of total deposits.

LPS also categorizes deposits by province. It turns out that so far, a lot of money stored in banks has come from the DKI Jakarta Province.

The value is very large or reaches IDR 6,874 trillion. When compared to total savings, deposits originating from DKI Jakarta are equivalent to 91.09 percent.

Meanwhile, West Java was in the second position with the largest deposit value of IDR 124 trillion, and East Java was in the third position with a value of IDR 103 trillion.

Even so, LPS deposit guarantees cover 386.0 million accounts or 99.9 percent of total accounts are fully guaranteed, while 0.3 million accounts or 0.1 percent of total accounts are partially guaranteed up to IDR 2 billion.
