Developing The Potential Of People In The Marine Sector, Ministry Of KKP Signs MOU With NU

BALIKPAPAN - Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board KH. Yahya Cholil Staquf regarding the support of the marine and fisheries sector development program through empowering the potential of the people.

In his presentation, Trenggono explained that this agreement aims to increase the role of the people in supporting the marine and fisheries sector development program through empowering the potential of the people," said Minister Trenggono in his statement quoted on Tuesday, February 1.

Minister Trenggono said that the signing was a good first step, and it was hoped that it could build collaboration and synergy between the KKP and PBNU. The joint agreement between KKP and NU includes the development of advanced fishing villages, development of aquaculture villages, community salt business development, gender mainstreaming, capacity building and character development of human resources, and awareness of marine ecology and health management.

Meanwhile, PBNU General Chair KH. Yahya Cholil hopes that this mutual agreement can provide benefits and prosperity for the people of Indonesia. This activity was carried out to coincide with the PBNU Inauguration for the Solemn Period 2022-2027 at the Dome Building, Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan (Kaltim), Monday, January 31.

For information, the Inauguration of PBNU and the 96th Harlah was attended by President Joko Widodo and Vice President KH. Ma'ruf Amin, a number of ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, the Governor of East Kalimantan, the East Kalimantan Forkopimda, PWNU throughout Indonesia (who represented), interfaith leaders, and leaders of Islamic boarding schools.
