Hylo Open 2023: Praveen/Melati Fall In The Hands Of Danish Representatives

Mixed doubles pair Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti failed to enter the second round of the Hylo Open 2023.

JAKARTA - Mixed doubles pair Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti failed in the first round of the Hylo Open 2023.

The 2020 All England champions lost two straight games 21-15 and 21-18 against third seed from Denmark Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Boje, in Saarlandhalle, Saarbrucken, Germany, Wednesday, November 1, 2023 evening WIB.

In the first game, Praveen/Melati played tight in the first four points. However, after 2-2 the two lost five points in a row and were then four points apart at the interval.

After taking a break, Praveen/Melati's efforts to catch up on the opponent paid no results at all. They also ended up losing their first game with five points adrift.

At the beginning of the second game, the Indonesian representative had led 5-1, but instead fell behind 7-11 at the break.

They then chased the opponent and succeeded in identifying the score four times, 12-12, 13-13, 14-14, and 15-15.

However, after that the opponent immediately moved away with four consecutive points. Praveen/Melati then got up and approached Mathias/Alexandra 17-18 before giving up.

This victory also made the Danish pair equal the winning record with Praveen/Jordan to 3-3. This is also their third straight win over Praveen/Melati.

Before Praveen/Melati, Indonesia had previously secured a ticket for the second half through Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja.
