JAKARTA Heavy boxer Tyson Fury plans to have ten more fights after a duel against former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
Fury, who is unbeaten by a record (30-0-1, 24 KO), has not fought again since the rematch against Chisora in December 2022.
After almost a year of not dueling, he returned to the ring to compete against Ngannou on October 28 in Saudi Arabia. Their duel took place under boxing rules.
"I want to sign another 10 fights contract after this [against Ngannou]. So, I don't know, I'll see who I can get for the next 10 fights," Fury said.
The plan indicates Fury doesn't want to retire from boxing. In fact, he had announced hanging up his boxing gloves after hitting knock out (KO) Dillian Whyte in April 2022.
Fury finally changed his decision and returned a few months later to beat Chisora. After fighting Ngannou later, he is also likely to fight WBO, WBA, IBF, and IBO belt holders from Ukraine, Oleksandr Usyk.
The duel against Usyk before being discussed earlier this year, but then it was canceled. Both will enter the ring to unify all heavyweight belts.
Even though it failed to be realized, both of them still have a desire for the unification of the title. Moreover, the duel will result in very tempting compensation.
"It makes me very happy fighting. This is the only thing I've ever done and that makes me happy. So, it would be stupid if I didn't want to get millions of dollars and also get a lot of happiness from it," Fury said.
The British boxer said that to be able to realize his plan he needed to avoid possible injuries.
"I've been boxing for 15 years as a professional boxer. I'll be prone to injuries, you know, elbows, knees, shoulders, ankles, anything that can happen to someone who usually happens at our age now," Fury said.
