MU In The Champions League, Varane Yakin Can Win And Antony Appears Against Galatasaray

Manchester United centre-back Raphael Varane believes the team will rise and have a chance to win the Champions League.

JAKARTA - Defender Raphael Varane believes Manchester United still has a chance to win the Champions League. Despite making a bad start in the English Premier League and Champions League, Varane is optimistic that MU will rise. In the second match of Group A of the Champions League against Galatasaray at Old Trafford Stadium, Wednesday, October 4 in the morning WIB, winger Antony will appear.

MU's bad start this season. In the Premier League competition, MU lost again. Playing at home, they instead gave up 1-0 from Crystal Palace.

As a result, MU failed to improve its position and stuck in 10th place with nine points. Ironically at the previous meeting at the Carabao Cup, the Red Devils even slaughtered Palace 3-0.

The defeat to Palace in domestic competition is certainly MU's bad capital when he played Galatasaray. Moreover, MU also started the fight in this European competition with disappointing results after losing 4-3 to Bayern Munich.

However, Varane remains optimistic that MU will rise. Even the former Real Madrid center-back believes MU can become the Champions League champion. The condition is that MU must improve performance and play more efficiently.

"We did concede a lot of goals, but we had to be able to score more goals. That's the reality when you're at the highest level. You have to play efficiently to win trophies. Of course, we have a quality squad. But we have to be able to improve ourselves and improve our abilities," he said again.

Responding to MU's ability in European competitions, Varane believes the team can compete with other teams. "We have to make improvements. We did a start that didn't meet expectations. But I still believe in our quality to compete," said the former player of the French national team.

In the match against Galatasaray, manager Erik ten Hag considered fielding winger Antony. Previously, this Brazilian national team player faced charges of violence against his ex-partner. He also had to undergo a five-hour examination at the Manchester police.

Although the case has not been completed, Antony has returned to training. This is Ten Hag's consideration if Antony is prepared to start in this important match.
