The Indonesian U-24 National Team Is Poor In Creation!

JAKARTA - Football observer, Kesit Handoyo commented on the appearance of the Indonesian U-24 national team when they lost 0-1 against Taiwan in the 2023 Asian Games group stage. Whereas previously the national team was predicted to win in this second match.

In the match which took place at Zhejiang Normal University East Stadium, Jinhua, Thursday, September 21, the U-24 Indonesian national team played under the best performance against Taiwan.

In that match, the Garuda Muda squad was deemed to be able to control the match because they managed to withstand Taiwan's efforts until the end of the first half. However, the U-24 national team actually conceded in the third minute when the second half ran through Chin Wen Yen's kick after receiving Lin We Chien's pass.

With good possession of the game but ending in defeat, this result is very unfortunate according to observer, Kesit Handoyo. He said this also happened because of the lack of creations in the field.

"The appearance (of the U-24 National Team) is certainly disappointing because of losing, although only 0-1 in terms of play we can be said to be disappointing because of poor creations," said Kesit Handoyo when contacted by Voi.id on Thursday, September 21 evening WIB.

"Indeed, mastering the match but poor creations so we can't take advantage of the opportunities we get," he continued.

Against Taiwan, the U-24 national team squad did seem frustrated to dismantle the opponent's defense. Related to that, Bung Kesit mentioned again that the influential factor was the absence of a player who could be a creator.

"The creativity is lacking, because there are no creators in the Indonesian team. Players who can break the deadlock and when faced with such a situation there is no situation, in the end we are unable to score goals," continued Kesit.

"In our team, we don't have players whose models are like Marselino Ferdinand or Ivar Jenner who can be the difference in the team, that's unfortunate. We lost the figure of Marselino or Ivar," he said.

After the defeat to Taiwan, the U-24 national team still had to struggle to find a chance to qualify for the advanced round. Indra Sjafri's team still has to face North Korea on Sunday, September 24.

"At first against Taiwan, we were predicted to be easier to beat than Kyrgyzstan, but it turned out to be unexpected. Now, against North Korea as much as possible (the national team) Indonesia should not lose, even though it is difficult," hoped the observer.
