China Open 2023 Big 16 Match Schedule: Men's Doubles Have Secured One Quarter-Final Ticket

JAKARTA The second round or the last 16 of the China Open 2023 will be held today, Thursday, September 7. Indonesia sent eight representatives to compete for tickets to the quarter-finals of the BWF Super 1000 level event.

Of the eight representatives who will play, only the women's singles number does not have a representative. This sector is without representatives after Putri Kusuma Wardani lost to Akane Yamaguchi, Wednesday, September 6.

In the men's doubles number, Indonesia will definitely have one representative who will advance to the quarter-finals. This is because the remaining two men's doubles face each other.

The remaining two men's doubles in question are the pair Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Rambitan and Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri.

The men's singles number also has two representatives who still survive, namely Jonatan Christie and Shesar Hiren Rhustavito. Shesar will meet representatives of Malaysia Ng Tze Yong, while Jonathan will face Brian Yang from Canada.

Mixed doubles are the sector with the most representatives in the second round of this year's edition of the China Open. In this number, the remaining Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti, and Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari.

Of the three names, Dejan/Gloria will face a tough test. This pair will meet the host's first seed, namely the Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong pair.

Meanwhile, Praveen/Melati will meet Malaysian representatives Tan Kiang Meng/Lai Pei Jing and Rinov/Pitha challenged fourth seed from Thailand, Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai.

Another Indonesian representative who also came to the second round was the women's doubles Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti. The pair will meet with Korean representatives, Jeong Na-eun/Kim Hye-jeong.
