Rashif Amila Yaqin became the first athlete to present the 2023 SEA Games gold medal for the Indonesian contingent. He made history in his debut at the biggest sporting event in Southeast Asia in the 32nd edition by finishing leading in the men's aquatlon number.

Ami recorded a total of 14 minutes 28 seconds. He swam 500 meters with a record time of 5 minutes 24 seconds, spent a transition time towards running for 24 seconds, then managed to become the fastest when running 2.5 km by posting 8 minutes 11 seconds.

The manager of the Indonesian triathlon national team, Dika Chrisna Irzandi, revealed that the athlete from West Java had been burdened with gold medal targets at the 2023 SEA Games.

"So indeed we appreciate the West Java Provincial Government enough. There is one athlete who is fast and fast. Last year, Rashif Amila was not monitored too much," said Dika.

Ami and athletes who are members of the triathlon national training camp (pelatnas) have indeed made thorough preparations for the 2023 SEA Games. In fact, they first left for Cambodia to carry out the aclimatization.

"We departed on May 1st. So there were about five days for athletes to acclimate before competing." said Dika.

With all the processes carried out, Ami also proved that he could be the best.

In addition to stealing gold, the Indonesian triathlon team has also won one bronze medal through Dea Salsabila Putri in the women's aquatlon number.

These results, said Dika, further increase the motivation of other Indonesian athletes, especially the Indonesian triathlon team, which still leaves two days of the competition.

Ami will also return to the men's triathlon number which will take place on Monday (8/5). "Indeed, we are targeting to win two gold medals in the aquatlon and triathlon numbers at the 2023 SEA Games," said Dika.

On Sunday, athletes from the number two or Indonesian dwilomba will compete. Red and White fielded Jauhari Johan and Sedilta Pilon Nubatonis in the men's sector. Meanwhile, for women there are Maharani Azhri Wahyuningtyas and Zahra in Aprillia Putri.

The following day Ami and Aloysius Reckyardo Mardian will compete in the men's triathlon number. Then Renata Berliana Aditya and Zahra in Aprillia Putri in the women's sector.

"We ask for prayers because there are still two more days that will make a dual and triaton reshuffle. Hopefully we can achieve gold in the next two days," concluded Dika.
