David De Gea Towards Manchester United Exit?

JAKARTA - Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea is likely to leave Manchester United. He reportedly disagreed with the new contract offered by the club.

Reportedly, De Gea does not want to accept a 9 million (around Rp164 billion) salary cut per year requested by Manchester United management.

The Spaniard actually wants to stay afloat after spending 12 years at Old Trafford. However, United's policy makes De Gea may have to compromise to secure his future.

Currently, the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper is the highest paid player at Manchester United. He earned 375 thousand pounds a week (equivalent to Rp6.8 billion).

MU actually wants to keep goalkeepers 32 years old. However, they only want to offer a salary of 200 thousand pounds a week. That value is more or less the same as players over the age of 30, namely Casemiro and Raphael Varane.

The club's management wants to seduce De Gea by offering bonuses to the player. However, De Gea's camp feels that his client cannot be paid far from his current salary.

However, De Gea and MU still have confidence to reach an acceptable middle ground. Moreover, both parties are interested in staying together for another three years.

If De Gea still has a chance to survive, that's not the case with Anthony Martial, Donny van de Beek, Scott McTominay, Eric Bailly and Alex Telles. They are already on the sell list.

While team captain Harry Maguire is another player associated with a move from Old Trafford.
