JAKARTA - Superbike racer Toprak Razgatlioglu has completed the test using a MotoGP motorbike owned by Yamaha, YZR M1. He tested the motorbike at the Jerez Circuit, Andalucia, Spain, recently.

The results are quite satisfying. In fact, the Yamaha MotoGP Principal Team, Lin Jarvis assessed, Razgatlioglu has great potential in the MotoGP racing event.

He even claimed that there was an interest from the rider to move from World Superbike to MotoGP.

"The contract is in WSBK now but he expressed interest (in MotoGP), and I think every rider is ultimately interested in seeing how they (can) do it in MotoGP," said Jarvis, quoted from WSBK's official statement, Saturday.

Rumors related to Toprak and MotoGP also surfaced when he was appointed to take a YZR-M1 driving test at the Jerez Circuit in Andaluc totaling, Spain, recently.

Jarvis assessed that Toprak could adapt well at the wheel together with the direction of another tester, Cal Crutchlow.

"Toprak spent time with Cal, who explained his motorbike to him. The most important thing for Toprak in this test is to get to know and understand what kind of machine a MotoGP bike has, what he demands, his feelings for it. It's a good opportunity to see how potential it will be for MotoGP in the future," explained Jarvis.

However, he said Toprak still needed adjustments to the M1 motorbike for MotoGP, considering that the motorbike used for Superbike is quite different.

"If I conclude, it's not easy for him to really feel his motorbike (M1). Your Kika is watching Toprak ride a Superbike, he is able to do magic on his motorbike and he has very good feelings, especially from the front side of the motorbike," said Jarvis.

"I think to get speed on MotoGP bikes, he needs to adjust his driving style significantly. That's my conclusion from the last few days," he added.
