JAKARTA - Repsol Honda has announced that Marc Marquez will not race in the United States MotoGP, Austin, this weekend. The Japanese factory team has also appointed a replacement.

Repsol Honda confirmed that Joan Mir will be accompanied by Stefan Bradl during the race at the COTA Circuit, Austin. They hope to repeat their dominance as in the past, even without Marquez.

This 5.51-kilometer circuit was previously a fun place for RC213V. Marquez won seven wins in Austin and was unbeaten from 2013 to 2018.

Mir also achieved his best result in 2022 while at the American GP. The Spaniard spent at least a week recovering from the impact of an accident during a sprint race in Argentina.

The racer with the number #36 is determined to resume his adaptation to Honda RC213V in the near future, with a racing distance as the key to further improvement.

On the other hand, Marquez continues to focus on recovering his injured right hand and will consequently miss the Austin GP. Bradl, who is the Honda HRC Test Rider, will replace him.

Bradl's last race in Austin was in 2016. In 2014 he started in the front row, behind Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa as RC213V locked in the top three.
