JAKARTA - Chelsea have finally taken decisive steps. The Blues officially sacked Graham Potter and appointed Bruno Saltor as a temporary replacement.

Chelsea's move is predictable. Chelsea officials are reported to have run out of patience after seeing their team lose at home to Aston Villa with a score of 0-2.

"Chelsea FC announces that Graham Potter has left the club. Graham has agreed to collaborate with the club to facilitate a smooth transition," reads the club's official website.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion coach was recruited by Chelsea on September 8 last year to replace Thomas Tuchel.

For approximately seven months in charge of the Blues, Potter's total played 31 games with 12 wins, eight draws, 11 defeats, 33 goals, and 31 goals conceded.

Although able to bring the club based at Stamford Bridge to advance in the last eight of the Champions League, Potter is considered to have failed to bring the Chelsea luxury squad further.
