Solo Manahan Stadium Ready To Hold The 2023 U-20 World Cup, Gibran Now Just Waiting For A Code From PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir

Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming emphasized that Manahan Stadium is ready to hold the 2023 U-20 World Cup. Currently, Gibran is just waiting for the code from the Chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir.

Erick Thohir is currently in Doha, Qatar. The man who is also the Minister of SOEs is preparing to meet FIFA to discuss Indonesia's status as the U-20 World Cup.

Gibran said that all activities had actually been prepared, including promotional events. However, he is still waiting for directions before taking the next step.

"I'm just waiting for the code from the chairman of PSSI, as soon as he gives the road code, I will follow it. The place of the match has to be used," said Gibran, as reported by Antara.

Gibran emphasized that the condition of the renovation of the Solo Manahan Stadium has been completed and mature. Now, just waiting for a decision from FIFA.

The eldest son of President Joko Widodo revealed that the continued steps to prepare Manahan Stadium for the U-20 World Cup are a form of commitment from the Solo City Government. Moreover, Gibran has signed a letter of commitment to become the host.

"I respect the existing agreement and it has been signed by both parties. This is a place for the match to be completed, the budget has been issued and all parties are tired of the energy running out to prepare themselves as hosts," he said.

However, continued Gibran, even if it fails to hold the U-20 World Cup, the Solo Manahan Stadium will still be used for other activities. Gibran said, Persis Solo is ready to use the stadium to hold the 2022/2023 Liga 1 match.

"The management has been notified in the last two matches as the host, please use the Manahan Stadium," he said.
