Cristiano Ronaldo Not Only Scored Goals When The Portugal National Team Won 4-0 Over Leichtenstein, But Also An Extraordinary Record

JAKARTA - Cristiano Ronaldo is happy. He managed to help the Portugal national team win a big victory over Leichtenstein in the inaugural match of the Euro 2024 qualifying Group J, Friday, March 24, early morning WIB.

The Portugal captain scored two goals in this match. The first goal went through the spot in the 51st minute and the second in the 63rd minute.

Meanwhile, Joao Cancelo scored two goals A Selecao in the 8th minute and Bernardo Silva in the 47th minute.

The two goals made Ronaldo further strengthen himself as a player with the most international goals of all time with 120 goals.

Not only holding a goal record, Ronaldo also broke another extraordinary record. He became the male player with the most international appearances of all time.

The Al Nassr striker appeared in 197th when Portugal fought Liechtenstein. That made him one point ahead of the Kuwaiti striker, Bader Al-Mutawa.

Soh Chin Ann of Malaysia (195 caps) is in third place on the list. Meanwhile Ahmed Hassan (184) and Ahmed Mubarak (183) from Egypt and Oman each completed the top five.

Ronaldo had equaled Al-Mutawa's record when he appeared for Portugal in the 2022 World Cup quarter-finals, last December.

Speaking ahead of a meeting with Liechtenstein at the Estadio Jose Alvalade, Ronaldo revealed he was considering retiring from international football after the defeat.

However, he is included in Portugal's new squad coach, Roberto Martinez.

"My biggest hope is to bring Portugal as high as possible. I will always play my part when needed," Ronaldo said, before the match.

"Getting a record is always a positive thing and it motivates me. I like to break records and now it will break other special records. It makes me very proud," he continued.
