JAKARTA The Indonesian badminton team held a joint prayer for the late Syabda Perkasa Belawa ahead of their appearance on the first day at the 2023 Swiss Open.

The moment was shared by the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) via social media Twitter on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. Trainers, players, and other staff gathered to hold the prayer.

"Prayers together for Syabda from the Indonesian badminton team who will compete in the 2023 Swiss Open. Rest in peace Syabda, we will always remember and bless you," wrote the national badminton parent statement.

The prayer was led by PBSI's physical coach, Yansen Alpine. He hopes that Syabda will be forgiven for her mistakes during her adventure in the world so that she can get the best place in the new world.

"If there are mistakes, please forgive everyone. May the family left behind be strong. We pray that the deceased can be accepted by His side. We wish all the best for the deceased," said Yansen.

In the video, Syabda's lover, Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, can't help but cry. He was seen sitting near the door accompanied by Apriyani Rahayu who tried to entertain him.

Syabda, who is the men's singles Pelatnas PBSI, died as a result of a car accident on his way to his hometown in Sragen.

He and his mother breathed their last on their way to the hospital. Meanwhile, the father was critical and one of his siblings was reported to have had a broken leg.

There are 17 Indonesian representatives who will fight in the Swiss Open from 21 to 26 March. A total of six representatives of them will start their struggle on the first day.
