Disappointed, Stefano Lilipaly Received A Call From Shin Tae-yong To The Indonesian National Team

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong officially summoned Stefano Lilipaly to join the squad for the FIFA Matchday agenda against Burundi. Lilipaly was drawn to the squad to replace Egy Maulana Vikri.

This assurance is known from PSSI's upload on the official Instagram account on Friday, March 17 afternoon WIB. In the upload, PSSI explained that Borneo FC players will join the training camp (TC) before fighting Burundi on March 25 and 28.

"Stefano Lilipaly has been officially summoned by Coach Shin Tae-yong to take part in the training camp before the FIFA Match Day match against Burundi," PSSI wrote completing the statement.

On the same occasion, PSSI also explained the reason why Egy was replaced by Lilipaly. This situation occurred because Egy was recovering from an injury due to defending his club, Dewa United.

"He (Lilipaly) replaces Egy Maulana Vikri who is still recovering from injury. Welcome to join, Fano!" continued PSSI.

Lilipaly's call to the national team to replace Egy was not without reason. The 33-year-old player appeared impressive in domestic competitions.

Throughout this season alone, he has packed eight assists and is the most in Liga 1 with Borneo FC. Meanwhile, with the Indonesian national team, Lilipaly has recorded 27 caps with a collection of three goals.

It was interesting that Lilipaly had expressed disappointment because his name was not included in the Indonesian national team's squad to fight Burundi. The 33-year-old midfielder uploaded the word 'Lucu' shortly after Shin Tae-yong announced the Indonesian national team squad.
