JAKARTA - Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti beat Thailand pair Supissara Paewsampran/Puttita Supajirakul to reach the quarter-finals of All England 2023.

The eighth-seeded Indonesian women's doubles won two straight games 21-16 and 21-19 at Utilita Arena Birmingham, England, Thursday, March 16, 2023 evening WIB. Apri/Fadia are the first Indonesian representatives to reach the last eight of the All England this year.

"We are quite happy with today's results. Not only because we won, but we can carry out the plans that we have compiled before entering the field properly. I hope tomorrow can continue well too," said Apri in a written statement from PBSI.

"Earlier in the second game when we were already ahead, we weren't even ready for a change in the opponent's pattern. Even though we already knew they were changing but we weren't ready to anticipate it. After that, we reminded each other to focus and return to our strategy," he added.

This result also sharpened Apri/Fadia's winning record over the Thai pair to 3-0. Two previous victories were carved by the 2021 SEA Games medal owner last year.

Apri/Fadia's first victory over Supissara/Puttita occurred in the last 32 of the Malaysia Masters. Meanwhile, the second victory was recorded at the Singapore Open semifinals.

Meanwhile, Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati also qualified for the quarter-finals of All Englad 2023. Amazingly, they defeated the fourth seed.

The Indonesian pair won two straight games over Thom Gicquel/Deplphine Delrue. They closed the match with a 21-12 and 21-17 wins.
