The Plan For PON XXI Aceh-North Sumatra 2024 Becomes A Discussion Topic In The Central KONI National Working Meeting

JAKARTA - The Central Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) National Sports Committee (KONI) 2023 was officially opened by the General Chairperson (Ketum) of the Central Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Lieutenant General TNI (Ret.) Marciano Norman, at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta on Sunday, March 12, 2023. The beating of the gong, which was initiated by the Head of the Central KONI, became a sign that the 2023 KONI National Working Meeting had officially begun.

Also accompanying the beating and hitting the gong, Chairman of the MPR RI Bambang Soesatyo, Chairman of the DPD RI AA Lanyalla Mahmud Mattalitti, Expert Staff for Central and Regional Relations of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Dr. Dwijayanto Sarosa and also Acting Secretary General of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) Harry Warganegara.

The National Working Meeting has the theme, 'Sinergitas and Solidity of Sports Stakeholders For Athletes to Win'.

"We invite all sports stakeholders to unite to describe the government's policy on sports, to jointly improve the quality of athlete coaching and sports organization governance so that in the future sports can appoint Indonesia in its participation in international single/multi events," said Marciano Norman.

One of the most important things is togetherness and unity. Therefore, the Head of the Central KONI invites all parties to synergy and solid as a unit that has the same goal, namely to raise the dignity of Indonesia. Sports can become a unifying guard for the nation because it should be in sports, there are no groups that are divided.

"We are all united for the Red and White," he said. We must complement each other and strengthen each other so that Indonesia is increasingly achieving," said Marciano.

In an effort to unite various groups, the Central KONI has collaborated with universities to support improving the quality of sports coaching. The Central KONI has collaborated with several leading universities that have great attention to achievement sports such as the University of Indonesia (UI), Gajah Mada University (UGM) and several other universities, both public and private," Marciano reported.

Several Provincial KONIs have also collaborated with universities to implement Sport Science in order to improve athlete performance.

Not to forget, the Head of the Central KONI invites all parties to support the implementation of the XXI National Sports Week (PON) 2024 in Aceh-North Sumatra. I ask for your support, ladies and gentlemen, because in the near future there will be the XXI/2024 Aceh-North PON on September 8 to 20, 2024, this PON will be the first PON to be held in two provinces and followed by 38 Provinces throughout Indonesia. I hope that the PON (PB.PON) Grand Committee involved can continue to be in touch with the Central KONI so that the implementation of the XXI/2024 PON can be better than before, "explained the Head of the Central KONI.

In accordance with President Joko Widodo's directives at the Limited Meeting (Ratas) that PON XXI/2024 will be attended by 38 provinces. This means that the province of the New Autonomous Region (DOB) of the expansion of the provinces of Papua and West Papua, will participate in the upcoming PON. The Central KONI immediately formed the Provincial KONI in the four DOBs, which were also invited to the 2023 KONI National Working Meeting.

At the end of the opening of the 2023 KONI National Working Meeting, a cooperation was signed between the Central KONI and several institutions. One of them is with the National Police regarding the organization of sports activities. Then the Central KONI collaboration with the Indonesian ICT/Digital Creative Industry Society (MIKTI), SEIKO Taishan and PT.Ninetology.

Then, the Head of the Central KONI gave awards to several figures who contributed to Indonesian sports. There are four former legendary Indonesian athletes who are also still dedicating themselves to sports through the Central KONI. They are Ellyas Pical, Icuk Sugiarto, Chris John, and Yayuk Basuki. There are also Bima Sakti football coaches and former East Java KONI two terms, Erlangga Satriagung.
