JAKARTA - The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) Papua Province Association (Asprov) said that Papuan women's soccer was still the best in Indonesia.

Chairman of the PSSI Papua Asprov Benhur Tomi Mano in Jayapura, Saturday, March 11, said this could be seen from the results of the XX 2021 PON in Papua where the women's soccer team from Cenderawasih Earth managed to win gold.

"And there are also many Papuan women players who have strengthened the Indonesian national team (Timnas)," he said, as reported by Antara.

According to Benhur, all of this was thanks to the guidance carried out by each club, such as those participating in the 2022-2023 Pertiwi Cup, namely Persidafon Dafonsoro, Toli FC, and Persemi Mimika.

"Most of the Papua PON women's teams have been strengthened by players from Toli FC. This shows that women's soccer development is very good," he said.

He believes that with serious coaching, in the future the Papuan women's soccer team can triumph at the national level.

"So we hope that the Toli FC club, which has won the 2022-2023 Pertiwi Cup, can prepare more maturely in order to defend the national series Pertiwi Cup title," he said again.

He added that by being trained by a great coach like Thomas Majdar, his party believes that Toli FC will win the National Series of Nations Cups later.
