PSSI Meets FIFA To Discuss Preparations, Erick Thohir Disburses Shortages From 6 2023 U-20 World Cup Stadiums

PSSI held a meeting with representatives of FIFA, Monday, March 6. This meeting was held to discuss preparations for the 2023 U-20 World Cup.

During this meeting, FIFA provided a number of notes to PSSI, including the stadium issue. This was conveyed by the General Chairperson (Ketum) of PSSI, Erick Thohir.

According to Erick, FIFA records are related to the condition of six stadiums that will be used at the 2023 U-20 World Cup in May-June.

The main aspect of FIFA's attention is the stadium infrastructure which is considered not to meet the criteria.

"There is (recording from FIFA). I'm not the one who recorded this, this is from FIFA, many of these (recorded)," said Erick Thohir after the meeting at the GBK Arena, Monday, March 6.

At (Bung Karno Main Stadium) Jakarta, there must be a platform camera and a guardrail at the training ground. In Si Jalak Harupat (Bandung), chips for the stands area, then fences for the broadcast area," he continued.

Erick then said that the shortage at the Gelora Jakabaring Stadium in Palembang was a parking bag. Meanwhile, the Solo Manahan Stadium has problems with the field.

"At (Bung Tomo Stadium) Surabaya, the access is for the media, the audience area is disabled, and parking. That (State I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Bali) is the south seat, parking, fence, and many others," said the man who is also the head of the LOC or local committee for the 2023 U-20 World Cup.

Based on this note, Erick said, PSSI would return to the stadium location to adjust what FIFA had said. A

The genda will take place on March 21-27 along with representatives of FIFA.

"I decided on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday to visit all stadiums. I will also ask representatives from us LOC, FIFA, and representatives from the central and regional governments to come down together," said the chairman of PSSI.

Previously, it was known that the six stadiums prepared for the 2023 U-20 World Cup in Indonesia were Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (Jakarta), Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium (Palembang), Si Jalak Harupat Stadium (Bandung), Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (Surabaya), Manahan Stadium (Solo), and Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium (Bali).
