JAKARTA - The big match full of rivalry between Persija Jakarta and Persib Bandung must be postponed. This classic match cannot be held because Persija cannot get a home to become a match venue.

Persija registered two stadiums to be their home in Liga 1 this season. The first is Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium Bekasi. Then there is Gelora Bung Karno Stadium Senayan Jakarta.

Patriot Stadium cannot be used because it does not get permission from the security forces. Meanwhile, SUGBK could not be used because it was being prepared for the Blackpink concert which was held March 11-12.

As a result, Persija management wrote to PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), Wednesday, March 1 afternoon. In a letter numbered 012/02/PJJ-ADM/III-2023, Persija management requested that it be rescheduled.

"Furthermore, Persija Jakarta asks PT Liga Indonesia Baru to be able to reschedule the match of NP 249 Persija Jakarta vs Persib Bandung which should have been held on March 4, 2023," the letter read.

President Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru, Ferry Paulus said, his party will reschedule the Persija vs Persib match. Just like the Persebaya vs Arema FC match which had to be postponed.

"When is Persija versus Persib's rematch, we will announce it later," said Ferry Paulus.

The match against Persib is important for Persija. The reason is, if they are able to be the best in that match, Persija will displace Persib to rank second in the 2022-2023 Indonesian League 1 standings.

For Persib, the victory over Persija will make them further pressure the leadership of the PSM standings.

Persija, who currently occupies the third position, has 51 points from 26 matches. Persib is in second place with 52 points from 26 matches. PSM is still at the top with 59 points from 27 matches.
