JAKARTA - PSSI under Erick Thohir's new leadership has collaborated with the National Police for better Indonesian football. This collaboration was built to present a more regular competition schedule.
The reason is that so far the schedule for soccer competitions in the country has often been disrupted due to the unfavorable situation. In order to bring a more conducive and safe condition, PSSI continues to cooperate with the Police.
This is as revealed by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo when attending the event with PSSI in discussing the Efforts to Eradicate the Football Mafia in the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) area, Senayan on Sunday, February 19.
"Of course in the future, we will discuss everything regarding the match schedule (Football) arrangements, so there is hope that there will be an early picture for the organizers," said Sigit.
Apart from the security side that can be guaranteed by the National Police, Sigit also said that to get a conducive situation after a regular schedule, his party together with PSSI must also talk to PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) as the operator of the competition.
"Regarding this permit, we always discuss us with PT LIB as the executor appointed by the chairman of PSSI. Of course this will be a joint discussion, so there is certainty for the holding of this competition," he continued.
Regarding the plan to present a more regular competition schedule, this is also in line with what Erick Thohir said as the chairman of PSSI. He said the proposal was so that the competition schedule would not overlap.
“We will propose a league that does not overlap, this is what we are now pushing,” Erick Thohir said on the same occasion.
"For the match schedule, why are we going to start sarasehan for football in two weeks with League 1 and League 2, we want to make sure what the schedule for the competition will be without delivering League 2," he explained.
