Menpora Update Against And The Date Of The Mini Tournament Ahead Of The U-20 Asian Cup, So Against Argentina And Portugal?

JAKARTA - The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Zainudin Amali, conveyed the latest information about the mini tournament that will be attended by the U-20 Indonesian national team ahead of the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup. The Minister of Youth and Sports gave certainty about the opponents to be faced and the timing of the implementation.

Menpora said there are three countries that have been confirmed to be against Garuda Nusantara. Meanwhile, for the time of the match, it will be done by one-day system, namely on February 17, 19 and 21.

"Fiji, New Zealand and Guatemala (will face the U-20 Indonesian national team in mini tournaments). These three have qualified (to the 2023 U-20 World Cup)," said the Menpora when met on the sidelines of the FGD Instruction Instruction at the Kemenpora office, Central Jakarta, Monday 13 February.

Even though he was unable to provide this information, the Minister of Youth and Sports still could not provide news about the location for the mini-tourna tournament. According to him, this question must be addressed to PSSI.

Previously there were a number of countries that were candidates against Garuda Nusantara in the mini tournament. Indonesia U-20 national team coach Shin Tae-yong initially said that his foster children were targeted to serve Fiji, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Youth and Sports had intended to bring in top football countries of the Portuguese and Argentine class to measure the capabilities of the Red and White Forces.

The U-2023 Asian Cup which takes place in Uzbekistan on March 1-18 itself will be a warm-up for the national team before appearing in the 2023 U-20 World Cup.
