Former IGK Manila National Team Manager Select Erick Thohir So That PSSI Understands The Modern Football Industry Concept

JAKARTA - Former manager of the Indonesian national team at the 1991 SEA Games, IGK Manila revealed the advantages possessed by Erick Thohir when he became PSSI General Chair.

He assessed that Erick Thohir has an international track record related to football which can be the capital to sit as Chairman of PSSI.

"Erick Thohir has been poor across the world of national and international football," Manila said, Thursday, February 9.

Manila assessed that Indonesia needs to make international football industry and programs an example to develop.

Departing from this, Manilai assessed that PSSI needs to understand modern football that combines the sports and scientific side.

If it wants to be realized, said Manila, then PSSI needs a board of administrators who fully understand modern football.

"You have to learn from the variety of best practices of competition in developed football and draw up conceptual and competitive standards. Some of the tendencies here, related to benchmarking (tolong gauges) are administrative standardization and lack of in-depth studies," said Manila.

Furthermore, Manila hopes that the PSSI management in the future will have pure motivation regarding football and Indonesian football, which is really taken care of by people who have tested their commitments and track records.

Regarding competition, Manila assesses that the league in the future must run simultaneously. He also proposed simplifying the number of league participants so that competition is more practical and efficient.

"Competitions that the club participates in must be limited in number because improving the quality of players cannot be said to be directly proportional to the number of competitions that are followed. In fact, their development will be rapid if the coaching and competition run simultaneously," he concluded.
