Brazil Messages A Place In Indonesia's U-20 World Cup, Which Countries Have Qualified?

JAKARTA The Brazilian team confirmed itself to qualify for the U-20 World Cup in Indonesia this year after defeating Paraguay in the third match of the Conmebol zone.

Ramon Menezes' side won two goals without reply over the opposing team at the Estadio Nemesio Camacho El Camp Kalimantan, Bogota, Colombia, Tuesday, February 7, western Indonesia time.

The result made Brazil temporarily collect nine points. They are ahead on goal difference over Uruguay who are trailing in second place with the same collection of points.

Despite being in second place, Uruguay has also confirmed itself to qualify for Indonesia after defeating Venezuela with a landslide score of 4-1 at the Metropolitano de Techo Stadium.

There are still two more tickets from the Conmebol U-20 final phase to be contested. Colombia is one of the favorites because it has collected six points so far and filled third place.

The addition of the two tickets makes a total of 14 countries have sealed tickets to the U-20 World Cup. One of them is Indonesia, which automatically passes because of its host status.

Europe is the confederation that gets the most tickets, namely five. Followed by Concacaf, Conmebol, AFC, and CAF with four teams each, while Oceania is only two teams.

Apart from Indonesia, 13 other teams that are certain to compete in this biennial event are Slovakia, Italy, Israel, France, England, New Zealand, Fiji, United States, Honduras, Guatemala, Rep. Dominica, Brazil, and Uruguay.

The remaining ten tickets will still be up for grabs. In addition to the remaining two tickets from Conmebol, eight other tickets will be pursued by four Asian representatives and four African representatives.

Tickets for these two confederations will be fought for in March. Asian representatives are determined from the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup and African representatives from the 2023 U-20 Africa Cup.

The U-20 World Cup will take place from May 20 to June 11 in six different places, namely Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Gelora Sriwijaya, I Wayan Dipta, Gelora Bung Tomo, Jalak Harupat, and Manahan Solo.
