JAKARTA - The British running athlete, Mo Farah, is nearing the end of his career. He is already preparing to touch the finish line.

Farah said the London Marathon 2023 would be the last major he had in his hometown. He will also reflect on ending his brilliant career.

The 40-year-old is best known for his success in winning the 5,000 and 10,000-meter gold medals at the 2012 London Olympics. Farah then defended the two achievements at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

He has also won a number of world titles from the two long-distance racing disciplines.

When no one can match his career achievements, Farah is excited to run again in London after missing last year's marathon edition. Yet now he has started to enter his old age at the start of the race on April 23.

"This career is extraordinary and taking part in the London Marathon is very important," Farah said in an official statement released by the organizers, as reported by Antara.

"I'm disappointed I couldn't run last year and I want to try again. It all depends on my body. I just want to get to the start line and see what I can do," he continued.

However, Farah realized that her steps were no longer as fast as they used to be. "You can't always go back to the right conditions and for me, I want to be able to finish in my hometown," he said with awareness.

Farah will not appear at the 2024 Paris Olympics, but will likely try to end her career at this year's Budapest world championship.

"I'm not going to the Olympics and I think 2023 will be my last year," he said.

"But if it is until the end of the year and you are elected to represent your country, I will never reject it," he continued.

Farah last ran in London in 2019, finishing fifth, after finishing third the year before.

"It's been a long time," he said. "But I will prepare well. I will go to Ethiopia and train hard and see what I can do when April arrives."
