Proud, President Jokowi Rayakan Two Titles Of Indonesian Masters Champions

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) celebrated the two 2023 Indonesia Masters titles that were won by the hosts after the series of finals at Istora Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Senayan, Jakarta.

Jonatan Christie won the men's singles after winning the All-Indonesian Final against his junior, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, two straight games 21-15, 21-13.

Jonathan's achievements were followed by the pair Leo Rolly Carnando / Daniel Marthin who contributed the second title of the Indonesia Masters through victory in the men's doubles final match after overthrowing Chinese representatives He Ji Ting / Zhou Hao Dong 21-17, 21-16.

The President tweeted via his official Twitter account, @jokowi, on Sunday night congratulated Jonathan not only on the title but also on Chico who appeared in the All-Indonesian Final of the Indonesian Masters men's singles.

Not long ago, the Head of State then also tweeted congratulations to the couple Leo/Daniel who are familiarly called TheBabes for their success in winning the men's doubles number.

For Jonathan, who is familiarly called Jojo, the title at the Indonesia Masters 2023 means more because it is his first title in the BWF Super 500 badminton tournament.

Jojo's victory over Chico is also the second time the badminton player who was born on September 15, 1997 has felt the moment of success at Istora GBK after winning the 2018 Asian Games gold medal.

Meanwhile, for The Pipes, the title of Indonesia Masters 2023 is their second title at the BWF Super 500 level after the 17th ranked pair also won the Singapore Open 2022.
