Super Power Emerges In Lewis Hamilton During The Racing

JAKARTA - Lewis Hamilton is arguably a living legend of Formula 1 racing. The British racer has achieved many achievements while taking part in the land jet race.

Hamilton pursues his dream of becoming a racer since childhood. Now, at the age of 38, he already has a collection of seven F1 world titles, 103 race wins, 103 pole positions, and 191 podiums.

The Mercedes GP driver said he could channel his emotions into the race. In fact, he feels like he has super power if he has shot up on the track.

"After I started racing, I was able to channel the emotions I had into my driving methods," Hamilton said.

"I remember the feeling of wearing this helmet and like wearing my own (Superman) robe... As if my super powers were going out while I was driving," he continued, quoted by Antara from the official F1 website.

Hamilton has used his profile and voice to drive for greater diversity in motorsports and beyond including the formation of Mission 44, which aims to change the lives of young people from underserved backgrounds.

"That's Mission 44, meeting children at school, talking to family and parents who are clearly going through difficult times and want to create the best opportunities for their children," he said.

"(I want to) encourage them, that it's okay to start, because I've been in more or less the same position, so they can also get to their respective finishing lines. For me, it's much more useful than winning the race," he added.

Meanwhile, Hamilton will enter his 17th F1 season, and the final year of his contract with Mercedes in 2023. However, there is no sign the Briton will hang up his helmet.
