JAKARTA - The All-Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi) collaborated with the Ministry of SOEs and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to turn basketball into an industry.

The General Chairperson of Perbasi, Danny Kosasih, said that there had been an agreement between his party and the Ministry of SOEs and also the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. He conveyed this when he visited Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung, Saturday, January 7.

"We together with the Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir and the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Solahuddin Uno and other friends at the center agreed that basketball could become an industry," Danny said as quoted by Antara.

He said this basketball should be an industry. If it can't be an industry, he thinks basketball is better off stopping and disbanding.

"If basketball is champions and the industry doesn't work, it will die together," he said.

He strongly supports the breakthrough of Pangkalpinang which held the U15 Basketball National Championship. Moreover, this event will be followed by MSME players, so that it can have an impact on the economy of the people in this area.

"This is a good breakthrough and it is hoped that every basketball match must also be followed by MSMEs, so that this small business can develop," he said.

He stated that in December last year there were 22 basketball activities between clubs on the island of Java and when I wanted to go to Cirebon it turned out that all hotels were full. This must be developed immediately for the advancement of basketball.

"Indonesia has been given the trust by the world to host FIFA Asia and has just finished. Yesterday afternoon it just received a report, all of them have increased as high as possible because people love basketball together work together to build Indonesian basketball," he said.
