Shin Tae-yong Will Prove Indonesian Football Majur Dari Sebelum

JAKARTA - Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae-yong carries a number of missions in the 2022 AFF Cup. The main target is to bring the Red and White team to become champions for the first time.

With that victory, Shin wants to prove that Indonesian football is more advanced than ever.

"I want to work hard for this and will try more to show Indonesian football moving forward much better than before," said Shin Tae Yong on Thursday, December 22, 2022.

In addition, Shin wants to be the best of other Korean coaches to take part in the 2022 AFF Cup. In addition to the 52-year-old coach, the 2022 edition biennial competition also involved Park Hang Seo who coached Vietnam and Kim Pan Gon who led the Malaysian national team.

Shin is carrying out a tough task with the Indonesian national team at the AFF Cup this time. He will try to bring the Garuda squad to get the inaugural title of the championship which began in 1996.

So far, the Red and White team has actually tasted the final six times. However, on all occasions, Indonesia has only been runner up.

Shin said the competition to get a title this year was certainly not easy. Moreover, Malaysia and Vietnam are strong countries and have already collected titles.

Indonesia will start its journey in this year's AFF Cup against Cambodia on Friday. Furthermore, Shin's troops will meet the Philippines, Brunei, and Thailand.

Malaysia and Vietnam, which are favorites to win, will likely face Indonesia in the semifinals or finals. The two countries are favorites to win and runners up in Group B.
