JAKARTA Watching with the Qatar 2022 World Cup final turned into a tragedy for a family in Mumbai, India. Their three-year-old son fell from the fifth floor and died on Sunday night.

According to police, the boy named Hrudyanshu Avnish Rathod suffered severe head and back injuries after sliding from a fence at the Garware Club's headquarters in Churchgate.

At the time of the incident, his son's parents were busy watching the Argentine final match against France on the terrace of the club's sixth floor headquarters. The boy's father, Avanish Rapod, is a member of the club.

The boy was rushed to the hospital. However, he was declared dead only two moments later.

"A three-year-old boy died after falling from the fifth floor of the Garware Club where he went with his parents to watch the World Cup final. The case is registered under ADR (Official Death Report)," Marine Drive Police said.

This incident occurred when Hrudyanshu and his 11-year-old cousin, Vivan, came home from the toilet. Vivan, who was walking in front, suddenly heard a loud noise behind him, immediately realized Sridyansh had fallen from the stairs.

Vivan then immediately ran up and told everyone about the incident. The family rushed to check on their child and found him lying on the ground floor.

Furthermore, the police said, the boy's family accused the club's management of negligence. The reason is, they did not put up the glass slab that was lost from the ladder fence with the steel handle.

The club's management is considered negligent because it does not try to correct the major flaws on the stairs before holding a viewing program together.
