PSG Heavy Rival Mau Boyong Cristiano Ronaldo

JAKARTA The tough rival of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Olympique Marseille, has big plans. The French Ligue 1 club is preparing to bring Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who is currently a player without a club.

The information was confirmed by the legend Marseille Basile Boli. He said the club was currently holding talks with the 37-year-old about a possible move to France.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is in talks with Olympique [Marseille], I think he should have come," Boli said as quoted by NW Sport, Tuesday, December 20, 2022.

Currently Ronaldo does not have a club after Manchester United decided to terminate his contract in November following his controversial interview with Piers Morgan.

The owner of the five Ballon d'Ors was briefly linked with his return to Real Madrid after he reportedly trained at the club headquarters of the Spanish capital after Portugal was eliminated from the last eight of Qatar's 2022 World Cup.

Then Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr was also briefly linked to Ronaldo. They are even ready to pay more than three trillion wages per season to get his signature.

The crowd has recently been denied by the player himself. Thus, he might consider moving to Marseille considering his rival Lionel Messi currently plays for PSG.

"He's a talented player, even if he's a bit old, I think in French Ligue 1 he still has something to give away. We saw that. For example Messi, didn't work out in the first year and then in the second year he proved that he was number one," said Boli.

Ronaldo has no impressive 2022 World Cup campaign in Qatar. He only managed to score one goal from the point in the tournament against Ghana in the first match of the group phase.

The former Manchester United star started in the next two group stage matches, but was backed up as Portugal crushed Switzerland in the round of 16.

He also played in the second half when Portugal had to return from the last eight after losing 0-1 to Morocco. This may be CR7's last World Cup given his current age.
