Emotional Messages Scaloni Ahead Of Argentina's 2022 World Cup Final Vs France

JAKARTA - Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni was touched by the struggle of his team to reach the 2022 World Cup final. Ahead of the match against France, he again expressed his emotional message.

Scaloni said he was proud of Julian Alvarez and his big ambitions to win the world title in Qatar. Moreover, the coach understands very well, if his team succeeds this time it will cure the longing of the Argentine people who 36 years long long for the World Cup trophy.

"I am touched and proud because the players have given everything and we hope to achieve it (the title). If it's not like that, let everyone still feel proud, because this is a moment to enjoy it," Scaloni said in an interview ahead of the final match, quoted from Mirror on Sunday, December 18.

Scaloni added, "In principle there is a general expression saying that the final is won, not played. The expression is correct. Even though we had to play it as we did in the last game," Scaloni said.

Emotionally, Scaloni also responded to Messi's apparent big ambition for the world trophy which was said to be the last moment for him. Scaloni said Messi's biggest desire must be supported by many parties, especially for the virtue of the wishes of the Argentine people.

"If Messi says that this is his last game with the national team, let's hope we can win the trophy, it will be good. I hope this ends in the best way for him," he said.

On that occasion, Scaloni also denied that tonight's final match would only be the stage for the duel of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe. According to him, the final match at the Lusail Stadium was more than just the stage of the two PSG stars.

"The match will be Argentina against France, outside Messi and Mbappe. Lionel Messi is in good condition. Pray that he will continue to give his best for Argentina," he stressed.
