JAKARTA - The Indonesian Traditionalking Federation (INATKF) team ranks second at the 2022 Asia-Ocenia Cup Traditionalking event in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, last weekend, by collecting five gold and two silver.

The General Chairperson of PB INATKF, Muchlas Rowi, appreciated the athletes' struggle to create a historic moment in Uzbekistan.

According to Muchlas, the match, which starts from Saturday to Sunday (11-12 December), is a challenge for the Indonesian contingent. In addition to relatively short preparation, the condition of Tashkent City is also cold.

However, thanks to the fighting spirit the INATKF athletes managed to produce. Amazingly, the five athletes sent by INATKF were only able to achieve the best title.

They are Erwin Syauridhani, Devia Amylia Putri, Ehwatu Zuriyah, Roberdto Lusiandro Manu, and Kriyo Sambodho.

"It's not an easy task to compete in this kind of extreme weather, but it's also not a difficult one for a win. Thank God, our determination to win is getting stronger and all of that is proven by the success of ranking second in general," Muchlas said, quoting Antara.

Muchlas Rowi, who is also the General Secretary of Asia-Ocenia Traditionalate, explained that INATKF's achievements in international events had actually been engraved previously, such as at the 2020 Afro-Asia Online Traditional Karate Championships.

"Indonesia at that time was in third place with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 7 bronze medals. Of course this is proof that PB INATKF's outstanding tradition has strengthened," he said.

Muchlas also said that the target to become a champion is also in line with the spirit of the G20 in Bali which carries the theme 'Recover Together, Recover Stronger' or 'Recover Together, Rise Perkasa'.

It should be noted that the athletes who took part in the Asian Cup in Uzbekistan were gold medalists at the Erick Thohir Cup National Championships in Surabaya. Thanks to the assistance of the Indonesian Embassy team in Uzbekistan, they were able to compete this year.

Meanwhile, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan Sunaryo Kartadinata welcomed and congratulated the athletes of INATKF.

Sunaryo also gave his appreciation to PB INATKF for his team's persistence in achieving good achievements.

"Congratulations and Success to INATKF for making achievements at Tashkent City. In principle, we support every activity agenda from INATKF. Good luck always," said Sunaryo when receiving the Indonesian contingent team in his office at the Indonesian Embassy in Tashkent Uzbekistan, Monday (12/12).

Also in order to improve quality and present achievements for the Red and White.

"The predicate of the medal standings won by the PB INATKF athlete is a starting milestone for the traditional Indonesian karate team, and is the pride of the community," concluded Sunaryo.
