JAKARTA - Maintaining mental health is important for everyone with any profession, including esport athletes, who often experience burnout or loss of direction.

According to Academy mentality coach Garudaku Andromeda Manuputty at the burn out level, players feel they have finished the career they have been through. At such times it is important to recreate new goals in his career.

"Another example is tilting. It's not good, if it's physical like fainting. What if you pass out continuously? What should you look for that makes himtilting, it's looking for a new habit," said Andro to Antara on the sidelines of the Bali IESF 14th World Esports Championship 2022., Nusa Dua, Bali, Thursday.

Selain itu, menurut Andro, mental block banyak dialami para pemain esport. Mereka biasanya memiliki pemikiran hanya mampu untuk mencapai posisi runner-up misalnya, atau berpikir pasti kalah menghadapi satu lawan tertentu.

extra hard work can also affect the mental health of the players. Because excessive exercise will affect physical things that also affect mental health.

There are many methods to maintain mental health, which Andro says is different for each player and each team. Especially if they are in a competition. In this case, the mental health in question is mental performance.

"Mentally he is healthy, he is sane. Meanwhile, mental performance, I want to win, once I can't win, meaning is what has to be changed, champions can later be obtained later," said Andro, adding that esport athletes can rest and refresh to restore their mental performance.

Andro sees that the Indonesian national team's esport athletes are currently quite capable of maintaining their mental health. Although, there are some habits that need to be improved in a physical way to support their performance.

"The mentality is good, but we want to upgrade continuously, there are many upgrades that we want to improve, habits such as rest, substitution habits, there are still people who run to smoking, they don't believe that nutrition is important, sports support the performance of their minds. So that's what we need to slowly slide," said Andro.

Ideally, Andro said every professional esport club has a mental trainer for its players considering the burden they face is quite high in major tournaments or major leagues.

Maintaining mental health is also important, because players will later become coaches, even administrators of national federations, so that it can affect the esport ecosystem in the future.

Although for now, according to Andro, there is no need for special regulations to regulate obligations for esport clubs to provide mental coaches for the players.

"If we see them as assets, of course we need to protect them, and we better protect them. After they become players, what will they be, they are our prospective coaches, our administrators, we will instill a culture like in the future, this is what we need to pay attention to," said Andro.

"In the future, when the ecosystem is qualified to require it in a regulatory manner, I think it must be made, but what I see now, what I have observed now has not yet reached there. Once again, when the ecosystem is strong, it needs to be regulated," he added.
