JAKARTA - A sweet result was obtained by Indonesian representatives in the 2022 Bahrain International Challenge badminton tournament. The Red and White team managed to bring home two titles from three representatives who fought in the final match.

The two competition titles that took place at The Bahrain Kerleeya Samajam, Manama, Bahrain, from November 29 to December 4, were presented by the women's doubles Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto and the men's doubles Muhammad Rayhan Nur Fadillah/Rahmat Hidayat.

Meanwhile, one representative who failed to win the title was Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo. He had to settle for being runner-up after being defeated by Pitchamon Opatniputh from Thailand, 17-21 and 16-21.

Lanny/Ribka won the championship crown after displacing the first seed, Treesa Jolly/Gayatri Gopichand Pullela from India with a score of 21-18, 21-16.

"Hopefully this title can increase my confidence with Lanny to compete at an even higher level and become a capital to be able to get more achievements in the future," said Ribka in a statement received, Monday, December 5, 2022.

This victory is the second title for Lanny/Ribka since starting to be paired in the Open Vietnam tournament in September 2022. Previously they won at the Mansion Sports Indonesia International Challenge in Malang in October this year.

Meanwhile, Rayhan/Rahmat won the title after defeating the second seed from Thailand, Chaloempon Charoenkitamorn/Nanthakarn Yordphausong with a score of 21-13, 21-17.

"Obviously Rayhan and I are happy to be champions in Bahrain. The key is that we play more attacking and pressing. Also by playing a lot of small ball. In addition, we try to reduce our mortality or mistakes," said Rahmat.

This is Rahmat's fourth title this year. Previously he won the title at the Mansion Sports Indonesia International Challenge and Indonesia Masters Super 100 with Pramudya Kusumawardana and the title from RSL Lithuania International last June with Rayhan.

"This success with Rayhan will definitely be my capital in the future to achieve even more. I am happy to be able to win the title with different partners and at the same time prove worthy of competing at the top level," added Rahmat.
