The Composition Of Players Makes Jordi Very Yakin The Indonesian National Team Can Break 'Unfortunate' In The AFF Cup

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team will be strengthened by a number of new faces in the 2022 AFF Cup. Two naturalized players, namely Jordi Amat and Sandy Walsh, are ready to be played.

Jordi Amat is also optimistic that he can help the Indonesian national team break the curse in the AFF Cup by becoming a champion for the first time. According to the Johor player Darul Takzim, the Garuda squad has sufficient elements to make it happen.

The 30-year-old player also assessed that the mix of young players and senior players could make the Indonesian national team have many choices to navigate tight competitions such as the AFF Cup.

"I think very positively. This is a strong team, has many options for a tight tournament," Jordi said on PSSI's official website, Saturday, December 3.

"We can win that (turmen). We have very strong players, as well as with staff and coaches. We will do our best together."

Jordi Amat himself admitted that he was very happy to finally be part of the Garuda squad. He seemed impatient to make his debut with Shin Tae-yong's team.

"I am very happy, finally the process has been completed. I can play for the Indonesian national team, so I am very excited and happy," he said.

As is known, the 2022 AFF Cup will be held on December 20, 2022-16 January 2023. The Indonesian national team is in Group A with defending champions Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia and Brunei Darussalam.

Currently, the Indonesian national team is undergoing a training camp in Bali. There were 28 players who were called, including Jordi Amat and Sandy Walsh.
